Rumours of the possible resignation of provincial Liberal party leader Yvonne Jones have party members preparing for a change, despite any official confirmation.
Liberal party sources told CBC that Jones told senior party executive that she wanted to step down, although there has yet to be a formal resignation from Jones.
Jones is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer, and there have been rumours of her stepping down in the past. While past rumours have been quashed with a swift response, this time Liberal party president Judy Morrow would only say she would neither confirm nor deny the rumours.
The Liberal party executive is meeting Tuesday. It is expected they will discuss the next steps for the party.
