Juno-winning teacher Laura Winter returned to work at Bishop Feild School in downtown St. John's Thursday, to be greeted by a one-of-a kind musical performance.

Winter is one of three members of The Swinging Belles, which won Children's Album of the Year last weekend at the Junos in Calgary.

Students and staff wanted her return to be special so they surprised her with a gathering in the main foyer and sang to honour her accomplishment.

In an interview with the the St. John's Morning Show, Winter said the last week has been a blur.

"Nothing has sunk in," she said.

"I don't think I've stopped. I'm exhausted but I'm just so happy … I can't even sleep at night. It's amazing."
