Some areas of Labrador were without telecommunication services Wednesday because of an apparent break in a fibre optic cable.
Bell Aliant said the service disruption to long distance, internet, and some cell service was due to a fibre break between Riviere Pentcote and Baie Trinite in Quebec.
Crews were working in the morning and afternoon to restore service as quickly as possible.
A Bell Aliant spokesperson said all services were restored around 3 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the problem also affected cell phone coverage and the 911 emergency call system in western Labrador.
