Kruger employees at the paper mill in Corner Brook who were laid off over the Christmas holidays will be returning to work as of Monday.

One of two paper machines at the mill was shut down on Dec. 23. There has been no production for the last two weeks.

The intention of the 15-day curtailment was a 4,000 metric tonne reduction in newsprint output.

This downtime affected 110 employees, or approximately a third of the company's employees.

Most unionized workers voted last year to accept a concessionary deal with Montreal-based Kruger Inc., which has been trying to keep the struggling mill afloat.
