Knives used in convenience store robbery in St. John's

Two masked men armed with knives held up the Needs convenience store on LeMarchant Road Thursday night.

Two masked men brandishing knives held up a convenience store in central St. John's Thursday night.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the armed robbery took place at 11:18 p.m. at the Needs Convenience store on LeMarchant Road.

The suspects left the store with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes.

Police said both men were wearing dark-coloured hoodies and were carrying knives.

The RNC's K-9 Unit was called to the scene, however the men got away.

There were no injuries reported.
