A central Newfoundland school that's small in size — is large in its athletic prowess.

Valmont Academy, which is located in the community of King's Point, Green Bay, has taken several provincial sports titles this year.

It just meant a lot to us to be able to make an impact on everything.- Natalie Burt

The Valmont Vikings' girls team won the provincial championship in soccer, basketball, ball hockey and slow pitch softball.

Valmont is a K-12 school with just 110 students.

Team captain Natalie Burt said it's mainly the same girls who play on all four teams.

Burt said they work hard — so success is sweet.

"At the end of the year we were like, 'This is so cool because we were able to make an impact on the rest of the province,'" Burt said.

"And we were such a small team and we had so few girls to choose from. I don't know, it just meant a lot to us to be able to make an impact on everything."

With the victories, Valmont has doubled its championship banner count in just one year.
