A man recently convicted of manslaughter was sentenced to a few extra days in prison on Friday for a parole violation.

Kenny Green pleaded guilty in provincial court to breaching a bail condition.

In January, Green was out on bail for one day when he went to a Jungle Jim's Restaurant in Conception Bay South with his family.

At the time, he was under orders not to enter any establishment that served alcohol.

Green was sentenced two weeks ago to six years in jail for the beating death of Joey Whalen.

Riot accused appear in court

Five men accused of attacking Green during a riot at Her Majesty's Penitentiary in February also made court appearances on Friday.

Justin Harvey, one of the accused in the riot, elected for a trial with a jury in Supreme Court.

In the Newfoundland and Labrador system, the co-accused in the case — including Philip Pynn and Justin Wiseman — would have no choice but to also go that route.
