Jonathan Galgay won't rule out run in St. John's South
Another St. John's city councillor is eyeing provincial politics.
Rookie councillor Jonathan Galgay says he is keeping his options open in St. John's South.
"Never say never. I've had a number of calls and a number of interested parties who've had some discussions," said Galgay, who represents Ward 2.
"I haven't made a definitive decision yet, but that area in particular is of interest," he said of the riding.
St. John's South is currently represented by Tom Osborne, who was elected as a Progressive Conservative in the last provincial election, but then left the PC caucus and eventually joined the Liberals.
Galgay said if he were to run it would be as a PC.
Galgay joins the ranks of municipal politicians to recently test the waters in the provincial scene.
Last week Ward 1 councillor Danny Breen said he is considering running in the district of Virginia Waters after it was vacated by former premier Kathy Dunderdale.
