The St. John's IceCaps are launching a new set of hockey cards that features fan favourite John Scott.

The team says it will be issuing the 12-player hockey card set to update the 27-player set issued at the beginning of the 2015-2016 season.

The set will include seven players for the first time in an IceCaps uniform, including Scott, Max Friberg, Lucas Lessio and more.

Scott led all players in fan voting for the recent 2016 NHL All-Star game, but was traded from the Arizona Coyotes to the Montreal Canadiens and assigned to the IceCaps in the AHL.

Scott scored two goals in his NHL All-Star appearance was named the All-Star Game MVP, spurring reports of a John Scott movie in the future.

The hockey cards will also feature four additional players in the team's recently unveiled Royal Newfoundland Regiment tribute jerseys and a Zachary Fucale card with a close-up of the goaltender's new mask.

One thousand sets will be produced and will be available online and at Mile One Centre for $9.95, plus tax.
