Chiropractor Jeff Marshall has won the right to represent the Liberals in the district of Kilbride in the next Newfoundland and Labrador election.
Marshall, who is the Liberal party's acting treasurer, outpolled Joe Wadden by a count of 128 to 35 during last night`s nomination meeting.
Wadden is also on the party executive.
Marshall made headlines recently when he proposed that the minimum voting age be lowered from 18 to 16 years of age.
The party subsequently adopted that position as a policy.
Meanwhile, several people are vying for the Liberal nod in St. Georges-Stephenville East. The party said it will release the list of candidates on Wednesday, and will hold a nomination vote on Monday.
