Jason Jaffray, the captain of the St. John's IceCaps, will lead the AHL All-Star team when it comes to town next month.

Jaffray is the lone IceCap to be be named to the team.

Each year, captains for the American Hockey League All-Star teams have been selected by the league president in recognition of their outstanding service and leadership to the AHL.

The AHL All-Star Classic game will be played at Mile One Centre in downtown St. John's on Feb. 12. The day before, a skills competition will take place.

Both events will be internationally televised.

This is the third AHL All-Star event for Jaffray, 32, a forward.

The All-Star team will be facing off against Färjestad BK, a top team in the Swedish Hockey League.
