Impaired drivers stopped on the Avalon
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary stopped several impaired drivers on the northeast Avalon on Saturday.
Police received a complaint of a drunk driver on an all-terrain vehicle in Pouch Cove around 8:30 p.m.
The male driver, 48, was arrested for impaired driving and refusing the breathalyzer.
He was also ticketed for offences under the provincial ATV regulations.
Later Saturday night, the RNC stopped a vehicle in the downtown area of St. John's.
The male driver, 36, was charged with impaired driving.
Meanwhile, police responded to a motorcycle crash on Topsail Road in Paradise around 11 p.m.
The male driver, 42, was charged with impaired driving and refusal of a blood demand.
He was issued a number of tickets for operating a vehicle without a valid license and failing to transfer ownership.
The man was treated at the Health Science Centre for minor injuries sustained in the crash.
All three of the men were released from custody to appear in court at a later date.
