The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary had a busy Saturday night in the St. John's area, charging a number of people with impaired driving.
Police also conducted a number of traffic safety stops, checking approximately 500 vehicles.
A number of tickets were issued for a variety of offences.
During a stop in the Conception Bay South area, a male driver, 23, fled from police. With the assistance of a K-9 unit, he was later apprehended by the RNC in the Kenmount Road area.
The man faces charges of flight from police, dangerous driving, and not having a valid driver's license or insurance.
He also has $28,000 in outstanding fines.
The Constabulary has advised that roadside stops will continue throughout the holiday season.
