Impaired driver sentenced to 1 year for injuries
A St. John's man was sentenced to a year in jail and prohibited from driving for three years for causing a crash while driving drunk.
Glen Johnson, 42, was sentenced in provincial court on Tuesday.
Last December, Johnson drove the wrong way on Pitts Memorial Drive, and smashed his pickup truck into a car.
A man and a woman who were in the car suffered serious neck and back injuries.
Johnson had earlier pleaded guilty to two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm, driving while disqualified, and assaulting a police officer.
This is Johnson's third impaired driving conviction in the last 10 years.
