Impaired charge laid following snowmobile-vehicle accident
An impaired driver was sent to hospital on Saturday afternoon, after his snowmobile collided with a vehicle in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
The RCMP responded at around 5:15 p.m. where the collision happened, in the Blake Street and Lyall Street area. Police arrested and charged the 43-year-old snowmobile driver at the scene.
Police said the accused was then taken to hospital with minor head injuries.
The other driver was shaken up, but was not injured. Damage was estimated at over $1,000.
The accused was released to appear in provincial court at a later date to answer to the impaired driving charge and numerous provincial offence charges.
