Three men have been convicted of poaching wildlife in eastern and central parts of the province, following two investigations by Fish and Wildlife Enforcement.
Lawrence Stead of St. John's and Wayne Bishop of Foxtrap were each fined $1,000 after they were caught with four quarters of untagged moose.
Stead and Bishop are also prohibited from hunting big game for five years. Their all-terrain vehicles, a rifle and the untagged moose were seized by the Crown.
In a separate case, Clifford Freake of Birchy Bay was fined $750 for hunting small game without a licence or an outdoor identification card.
In addition to the fine, his rifle was seized after he was caught in the act on two separate occasions.
