Police in St. John's didn't have to go far to find an illegal driver on Monday.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary stopped a car on the parking lot of RNC headquarters near downtown St. John's.

The driver, 39, was found to be driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

The car also had false stickers on it.

As well, the man was driving the car while his licence was suspended, and had already racked up more than $4,000 in unpaid fines.

The vehicle was impounded, and the man was taken straight to court.
