IceCaps shade Sharks 3-2 in OT

Buoyed by two goals from Jerome Samson - including the game-winner in overtime - the St. John’s IceCaps scored a 3-2 win over the Worcester Sharks.

Jerome Samson scored two goals — including the game-winner in overtime — as the St. John’s IceCaps earned a 3-2 win over the Worcester Sharks Wednesday night at Mile One Centre.

Andrew Gordon had the other goal for St. John’s and the assist on the game-winner. Eddie Pasquale stopped 23 of 25 shots.

Rylan Schwartz and Daniil Tarasov had the tallies for the Sharks, who led 2-0 after 40 minutes of play. Troy Grosenick turned aside 27 shots in a losing effort.

The IceCaps play the Sharks again Friday night, the second of their three-game series at Mile One.
