IceCaps down Bruins 4-3 in shootout
Mouillierat scores game-winner to earn series split for St. John’s
Kael Mouillierat scored the game-winning goal in a shootout, and Paul Postma notched his first tally of the season along with an assist, as the St. John’s IceCaps beat the Providence Bruins 4-3 Wednesday night at Mile One Centre.
Adam Lowry and Andrew Gordon had the other goals for St. John’s in regulation, while Jason Jaffray also scored in the shootout. Eddie Pasquale stopped 30 of 33 shots in regulation to post the victory, on top of kicking aside all four shots he faced in the shootout.
Nick Johnson, Alexander Khokhlachev and Tyler Randell scored for the Bruins, while Malcolm Subban made 29 saves in a losing effort.
The IceCaps' next game is Saturday night when they host the Worcester Sharks for the first of two weekend games before the all-star break.
St. John's plays host to this year's AHL All-Star Classic Feb 11-12 at Mile One Centre.
