The St. John's IceCaps fell to the Syracuse Crunch for the second time, dropping a 1-0 decision in Game 2 of the Mary's Cup from the Clarenville Events Centre.

Riku Helenius stopped all 27 shots he faced for the shutout, while Geoff Walker notched the game's only goal on a two-man advantage late in the first period.

St. John's almost tied things up early in the third period, when defenceman Jordan Hill found himself in alone on Helenius and snapped a shot that beat the Crunch netminder.

However, his shot rang off the outside of the post and stayed out, keeping the IceCaps from getting on the scoreboard.

Game 3 will be played Sunday at 4 p.m. at Mile One Centre in St. John's.
