The St. John's IceCaps were unable to mount a comeback for the second straight game after falling behind 3-0 to the Utica Comets on Friday night, losing the game 4-1.

The IceCaps trailed 3-0 after two periods and drew within two after a goal from Bud Holloway, but the Comets added a late empty-netter to seal the deal.

Fan favourite John Scott came out victorious in his first fight in a St. John's uniform, however, besting Comets winger Darren Archibald after a hit on IceCaps defenceman Ryan Johnston.

The team remains in Utica to take on the Comets again Saturday night at the Utica Memorial Auditorium at 8:30 p.m., NT.
