Hotel stumble in Corner Brook checks man into hospital overnight
Police had to use the hotel's video surveillance to determine what had happened
A man in his 20s found himself in a Corner Brook hospital Thursday morning after taking a fall in a parking garage Wednesday night.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the man fell in the basement parking area of the Greenwood Hotel shortly before 9:30 p.m..
Police said when they arrived the man had appeared to have hit his head and was bleeding.
The man was conscious but too confused to tell police on the spot what had happened.
The RNC turned to the hotel's surveillance video to determine what happened, The video showed the man had stumbled while walking alone toward the elevator causing him to hit his head.
The video also showed that another person came by within minutes to help and called the RNC.
There was no indication that the man who stumbled had been impaired.
Police are describing his injury as a serious head wound.
