A Corner Brook man arrived at his home on Friday night to discover two disguised men in his house on Humber Road.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the homeowner, 53, was assaulted and bound up by the intruders at around 9:45 p.m.

Property was then stolen from the home.

RNC and the K-9 unit located the two assailants at a house in nearby Massey Drive and were taken into custody with assistance from the RCMP.

A 33-year-old man was arrested for break and entry, assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and uttering threats.

The man was held in custody for court Saturday morning.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, and further charges and arrests are possible.

The victim was taken to Western Memorial Hospital for a cut sustained in the incident and was later released.
