Holyrood residents take icy plunge for charity
Some people in Holyrood celebrated the first day of spring with a chilly dip in the Atlantic Ocean — all in the name of a good cause.
The annual Crystal Dip is part of the Crystal Carnival, which marks 40 days of town activities.
It was -5 C on Sunday when participants took the plunge at 10 a.m.
About 20 residents hopped into Holyrood Harbour at Maloney's Beach in support of the Newfoundland & Labrador Lung Association.
The town aims to raise $10,000.
That's one way to welcome spring.
