Search and rescue technicians with the 103 Squadron in Gander transported a patient from a fishing vessel off St-Pierre-Miquelon on Friday.

The Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Halifax dispatched the crew from Newfoundland, after a crew member on the vessel experienced medical concerns.

The crew member was hoisted from the vessel to a Cormorant helicopter, and transferred to the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's for treatment.

There is no word yet on the patient's condition.

This is the second such medevac flight in approximately 24 hours.

Cormorant helicopter was called in Thursday to airlift a man who wasn't feeling well from a fishing vessel. It happened at sea, about 400 kilometres from Happy Valley-Goose Bay. A rescue crew hoisted the 24-year-old into the chopper and flew him to hospital.
