A woman from Harbour Main is facing a drunk driving charge after a near-collision on Thursday night.

A couple were driving on Route 60 in Avondale when they had to take evasive action to avoid another vehicle.

The suspect driver pulled into a store and left her keys in the ignition.

The couple took the keys and immediately called police.

When the woman, 64, attempted to drive away, she discovered the keys were gone.

That's when the couple broke the news that the Mounties were already en route.

In addition to impaired driving, she was charged with refusing the breathalyzer.
