Police said a man used a firearm to rob a store in Holyrood on Sunday afternoon.

RCMP said the man, who appeared to be acting alone, entered the Mrs. Murphy's grocery store around 3 p.m.

He demanded and was given cash and cigarettes from staff.

The owner, who was on duty, was not injured.

RCMP brought in a police dog to search the area. No arrests have yet been made.

Police are asking anyone who was on Route 60 around 3 p.m. and who may have information to get in touch with the Holyrood detachment, or to contact the anonymous Crime Stoppers service.
