A counselling team was setting up at a school in the close-knit Shea Heights neighbourhood in St. John's Tuesday, to help those affected by a tragic death involving a local teenager.

A boy, 14, was pronounced dead at hospital Monday, after he was rushed from a swimming hole known as Punch Bowl Pond in Shea Heights.

The boy is presumed to have drowned during the incident.

The English School District said guidance counsellors and some teachers will be at St. John Bosco School on Tuesday morning to speak with anyone grieving the boy's death.

Police are still investigating the incident.
