Two people from Grey River on Newfoundland's south coast have been charged with a number of offences related to illegal poaching of salmon.
Fish and wildlife enforcement officers seized a boat, an outboard motor and a salmon net from the individuals.
The two were arrested and charged on June 24.
On the same day, officers discovered three other salmon nets also being used in the area.
The investigation into who owns those nets is ongoing.
Officials are asking anyone with information about poaching to contact the provincial department, the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
An earlier version of this report said that RCMP officers seized a boat and other materials. In fact, the operation was managed entirely by provincial fish and wildlife enforcement officers.Jun 30, 2014 9:39 AM NT
