Motorists got a small break at the pumps Thursday, as Newfoundland and Labrador's fuels regulator approved a drop in gas prices.
The Public Utilities Board ordered retailers to lower gasoline prices by almost two cents per litre. The reduction may be slightly less in some pricing zones, because of rounding for taxes.
The weekly setting means that the maximum a gas station on the Avalon Peninsula can charge for a litre of self-serve unleaded fuel is $1.34.6.
Prices for all other types of fuel were virtually unchanged.
