Gas prices drop 3.3 cents

The regulated maximum price for gasoline in Newfoundland and Labrador is down as of Thursday morning.

Gas prices in Newfoundland and Labrador are down 3.3 cents a litre.

The changes came into effect Thursday morning.

The drop follows an increase of almost five cents last week.

All other types of fuel remained virtually unchanged.

The maximum price of a litre of regular unleaded on the Avalon Peninsula is now 141.3 cents. In central Newfoundland, it's 143.8 cents; in the Corner Brook area, 142.0 cents.

The most costly fuel is in the Labrador South region, at 157.7 cents.

Maximum prices are set every Thursday by Newfoundland and Labrador's Public Utilities Board.
