Newfoundland and Labrador's Public Utilities Board lowered the ceiling Thursday for all regulated petroleum products.
The changes to maximum fuel prices are as follows:
- All types of gasoline motor fuel decreased by up to 2.8 cents per litre (cpl)
- Diesel motor fuel decreased by up to 2.5 cpl;
- Furnace oil heating fuel decreased by 1.94 cpl; and,
- Stove oil heating fuel decreased by 2.26 cpl
Propane heating fuel, however, increased by 3.0 cpl.
The current maximum prices reflect the change in the average benchmark price of the products over a seven-day period which ended this Tuesday.
Gas prices are usually set every Thursday, but the Christmas holidays will push the next setting to Saturday, Dec. 28.
