Garbage dumped near Norris Arm water supply
A man in central Newfoundland is disgusted by a pile of garbage that was dumped in his town's watershed area.
Norris Arm resident Josh Saunders said he discovered the mountain of trash on Tuesday when he was driving on an access road to his cabin.
He said the illegal dump site is only a few kilometres away from the town's water supply.
"You got a fridge in there, you got freon, you got boxes of stuff … stoves, you got stuff that's rusting," he said.
"There's a variety of things in there that definitely could compromise the water."
Saunders, an employee at the new central Newfoundland landfill site, said it would have cost about a dollar to properly dispose of the trash.
He has reported the incident to the RCMP.
