Newfoundland and Labrador's 13th Lieutenant Governor Frank Fagan met with Queen Elizabeth II for a private audience Tuesday morning.

Fagan, along with his wife Patricia, met the English monarch at Buckingham Palace in London, England to formally present his credentials as the Queen's representative for the province.

Fagan was appointed as the province's vice-regal representative in February 2013, succeeding John Crosbie.

The position comes with a five-year term.
