The St. John's IceCaps can advance to the second round of the AHL's Calder Cup playoffs with a win at home over the Albany Devils tonight.
St. John's leads the best-of-five Eastern Conference quarterfinal series 2-1.
St. John's captain Jason Jaffray said the team hopes their goaltender, Michael Hutchinson, can turn in a repeat of his stellar performance two nights ago when the IceCaps shutting out Albany 1-0.
"It's not going to be any other different approach than we've taken throughout this series," Jaffray said. "The first three games have been hard fought, in-your-face, tight-checking games. And hopefully our goalie is just as good as he was last game. I like our chances."
Zach Goudie will provide tweet all the action, and you can follow the excitement in our live blog.
The IceCaps only other playoff run ended in the conference finals in 2012 when they were swept by the Norfolk Admirals in four straight games.
The Admirals went on to also sweep the Toronto Marlies in winning the Calder Cup.
