Due to upcoming construction in Bannerman Park in St. John's, the city's annual Folk Festival will be held at Bowring Park.
John Drover, chair of the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Arts Society, said organizers will be taking advantage of the large open space in the middle of the west-end park.
Drover said the festival's events co-ordinator, John Clarke, has already started working on a layout.
"John Clarke has taken a satellite map of the park, and he's laid out a pretty good plan," Drover said.
"He's done this a good number of times - he knows where things need to go, and I think this year there's going to be a great layout. I think there will be lots of space for everybody to enjoy the shows."
The festival is set for the weekend of August 9.
Drover said shuttle buses will be available to get people to and from Bowring Park.
