Fog cited in fatal crash on Indian Meal Line
Foggy driving conditions may have played a role in a crash that claimed a man's life on a road north of St. John's.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the man, 32, was the only person in the vehicle when it left Indian Meal Line and struck a utility pole.
The RNC, which responded to a call for help just after 11:30 p.m., said the road was dry at the time, but it was foggy.
The driver had been heading west. His car hit a pole on the south side of the road, about two kilometres from the Portugal Cove-St. Philip's end of Indian Meal Line.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
