Residents of Corner Brook have had a day of navigation, as heavy flooding and icy conditions have affected driving and walking on city sidewalks.

Much of Thursday's flooding stems from a huge melt, due to warmer temperatures.

A number of manholes were also blocked, as mounds of snow accumulated during the winter months.

City crews have endeavoured to shovel away the snow, allowing some drainage.

Motorists are experiencing the brunt of the frustration, and many vehicles have either gotten stuck, or have spun out of control.

Pedestrians have not fared much better. Sidewalks are heavy with ice, making it very difficult to walk.

Business owners in the Broadway area have been trying to keep as much of the water out as possible, by using sandbags.
