British Airways flight diverted to Happy Valley-Goose Bay

British Airlines flight 85 from London to Vancouver has been diverted to the airport in Goose Bay.

British Airways flight BA85 travelling from London to Vancouver made an unplanned diversion to Goose Bay Airport in Labrador Tuesday evening.

Goose Bay RCMP said the plane was diverted because a passenger was in need of medical attention. 

Reports that the Boeing 747 plane had been diverted were first made around 7:50 p.m.

The airline said the flight continued on to Vancouver and arrived about five hours late.
