A British Columbia man was held overnight in custody after allegedly causing a fuss at the St. John's airport.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the man, 63, had boarded a plane that was about to depart for Toronto when some sort of trouble was reported around 8:30 p.m.

The aircraft had not yet left the terminal when the man was removed from the plane, as well as his luggage.

The accused man is facing charges of mischief and causing a disturbance.
