Two people are now in the running for the Liberal party leadership, following the resignation of Yvonne Jones.
Liberal Party veteran Danny Dumaresque was the first to announce his intention to run for the Newfoundland and Labrador Liberal Party leadership. The former MHA is a past Liberal party president.
Brad Cabana, who once unsuccessfully sought the leadership of the PC party, has also declared he wants the job.
He announced his intention through Twitter, stating on the website "after much discussion with fellow Liberals, and deliberation, I am pleased to announce my candidacy for leadership of the Liberal Party of NL."
Bern Coffey is expected to announce his bid for the party leadership Thursday, according to a supporter.
Former MP Siobhan Coady has previously stated she wouldn't seek the leadership, but that may change. She says she's been receiving phone calls all day from people who want her to run, and she said she hasn't ruled it out yet.
The next Newfoundland and Labrador provincial election is set to be held on Oct. 11.
