A storage area being used by Canada Post was completely destroyed by fire on Sunday morning in Natuashish.
RCMP were called out to a structure fire at the band council office in the community at around 6:30 a.m.
The local fire department attended and extinguished the fire, but not before a section of the building was destroyed.
Police said the post office, as well as the rest of the council office, received smoke and water damage.
There was nobody in the building at the time, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, and the RCMP are currently waiting for a fire investigator to attend the scene on Monday.
