Fire destroys home in Nain

The RCMP say a bungalow on Sandbanks Road in Nain was destroyed by fire on Wednesday morning.

A small bungalow in Nain, Labrador was destroyed by fire on Wednesday morning.  

The RCMP said a woman, 36, who was home alone in the house when the blaze broke out around 5:45 a.m., was able to get out safely.

Police said there were no injuries, but the home on Sandbanks Road was levelled.

Almost a dozen firefighters fought the fire, and also had to deal with high winds and temperatures of -45 C.

Police said they are still investigating the cause of the fire, but don't believe it to be suspicious in nature.
