A fire caused minor damage at a water treatment plant in St. John's late Monday afternoon, with crews getting there late because they had been sent to the wrong place.
The fire happened while workers were repairing the roof at the facility at the Bay Bulls-Big Pond water supply.
The fire had no effect on the water system.
The response to the fire had been delayed because crews were mistakenly sent to the waste-water treatment plant on the south side of St. John's harbour.
Within minutes, however, they were redirected to the fire scene near Bay Bulls-Big Pond.
