The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook is investigating a report of a possible explosive device at a home in the city.

Officers responded to the residence in the Humber Road area around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

RNC Const. Scott Mosher said police evacuated the home as a precaution and have identified the item.

According to Mosher, police are waiting for the Constabulary's Explosives Disposal Unit to arrive from St. John's to safely remove the device.
