The province's Progressive Conservative party finally has a leadership race, with Bill Barry versus Frank Coleman versus Wayne Bennett for the role of Newfoundland and Labrador's next premier.

Former Tory MHA Shawn Skinner had started making calls for support to decide if he would enter his name into the leadership race.

But Skinner said as time went on, he heard Coleman's name mentioned more and more, and decided it would be too difficult — if not impossible — to beat him.

The On Point panel, including Lana Payne, Russell Wangersky and Steve Dinn, discuss the nature of the PC leadership race.

The panel also talks about the changes within the party, and Premier Tom Marshall's push to dispel the perception of a closed and secretive government.
