Five men who were driving to Saturday's Salmon Festival in Grand Falls-Windsor are facing drug-related charges.

Five men who were driving to Saturday's Salmon Festival concert in Grand Falls-Windsor are facing drug-related charges.

The RCMP stopped the vehicle for speeding on the Trans-Canada Highway near Birchy Lake.

When an officer noticed a quantity of marijuana on the lap of one of the men, a search was conducted.

Almost two hundred ecstasy pills and 24 grams of cocaine were found.

All five men, from the Corner Brook area, were arrested for possession.

Four are facing charges including possession of a controlled substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking. They are also facing criminal charges for breaching a probation order and breaching a recognizance.

The four men are scheduled to appear in court in Corner Brook on September 17.
