Drowning may be cause of man's death near Clarenville
A 69-year-old man is dead after what appears to be a drowning near Clarenville.
The RCMP and a local search and rescue group were called Tuesday morning after an overturned boat was spotted.
The man was found dead in the water. He was not wearing a personal flotation device.
The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.
The death follows the drowning of a 51-year-old man who died on Saturday while fishing in the recreational cod fishery off Bonavista.
He also was not wearing a life jacket.
