Driver with $30K in fines busted in St. John's

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary pulled over a 34-year-old man in the west end of St. John's early on Friday, and discovered he owed a hefty number of fines.

A man who already owed $33,000 in fines was busted by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary early Friday morning. 

Police stopped the driver, 34, in the west end of St. John's.

The man did not have a driver's licence or valid insurance, and the vehicle he was driving had false registration stickers.

Police impounded the vehicle.

The accused was held in the lockup for a court appearance on Friday.
