Driver killed after plunging into ocean near Campbell's Creek
A 53-year-old man man from the Stephenville area was killed Sunday after his vehicle plunged over a steep cliff and into the ocean on Newfoundland's Port au Port Peninsula.
The unidentified man's body was recovered from St. George's Bay around 11:15 p.m.
RCMP said the vehicle had been on the main road in Campbell's Creek.
An RCMP official told CBC News that a fisherman's boat was used in the effort to retrieve the man's body.
The vehicle was still in the water on Monday.
RCMP are investigating the cause of the crash. An autopsy is being arranged.
The man's name has not been released.
